Spain, Costa del Sol
Elegant and mature with spectacular views of the magnificent La Concha mountain, it is the perfect oasis of tranquillity on the otherwise bustling and vibrant Costa del Sol.
Its parkland layout with gently sloping fairways makes it an ideal course for the average club golfer, but plentiful bunkers filled with sparkling ‘marmolina’ sand, fast greens, lush vegetation and fairways lined with olive, pine, cactus and eucalyptus trees, prove a challenge for single-figure players as well.
This beautiful all-inclusive hotel on the Costa del Sol perfectly recreates the Polynesian islands of Bora Bora, Samoa and Easter.
The Hotel Encinar de Sotogrande is set in a privileged location near the beaches of the Costa del Sol, and some of the best golf courses in Spain such as Valderrama, home of the 1997 Ryder Cup, which is just 10 minutes away by car.
The SO Sotogrande is an excellent 5 star resort with bungalow-style rooms with their own terrace, overlooking the hotel gardens, golf course and the coast.
The 4-star Vik Gran Hotel is an excellent beachfront hotel in Mijas Costa. Ideally located for playing golf to the East of Marbella including La Cala and Santana.
The North Course at Guadalmina is equally as busy as the South, but is the shorter of the two courses.
With 5 Tees per hole, Valle Romano is an enjoyable course for beginners whilst still proving a challenge for more skilled golfers.
The newer of the two courses at Mijas Golf, Los Olivos Course has undergone extensive regeneration in recent years to bring the course up to USGA requirements.
At the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja, where the mountains meet the sea, is a legendary home for European golf Created in 1990. Designed by Dave Thomas with bunkers redesigned by Seve ballesteros, The Old Course is rated amongst the finest in Europe.
