One of the most dramatic vistas on the island is the middle of Cougar Point’s front nine, along the Kiawah River, making this course a very memorable one.
Originally named Marsh Point, Cougar Point was redesigned by Gary Player in 1996 and plays 6,875 yards. It features a great blend of short and long par-4s, great risk/reward par-5s and extremely scenic and challenging par-3s.
In 2017 the course was given another major refurbishment which saw the re-grassing of the greens, tees, and fairways with Paspalum (the same grass that is on all other resort golf courses), the restructuring of the bunkers and updated irrigation systems.
Host of the 1991 Ryder Cup and the 2012 PGA Championship, Kiawah Island is a favourite among travelling golfers.
This popular hotel set in the heart of Charleston across from Marion Square, was originally constructed in the 1920s and is 15 minutes' walk from both the South Carolina Aquarium and the historic City Market, giving guests plenty to see when not treading the fairways.
The perfect place for the visitor looking for great comfort and amazing value.
At Hampton Inn Charleston Historic District, you can experience Southern hospitality, antebellum architecture and the unique shops of the historic district right on your doorstep.
RiverTowne Country Club, located in beautiful Mount Pleasant, is home to Charleston’s only Arnold Palmer Signature golf course.
The famed Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort hosted the infamous War on the Shore Ryder Cup in 1991, and has gone on to host numerous Championships since, including the 2012 PGA Championship.
From the rustling palms lining lush, rolling fairways to a finishing hole overlooking the glistening Atlantic Ocean, the Links Course is South Carolina golf at its finest.
